What We Do

RDA Peninsula provides suitable horses, trained volunteers, accredited coaches and all equipment for therapeutic riding based programs.

Our programs benefit people with a variety of disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Spina Bifida, Intellectual Disabilities, Multiple Sclerosis, Acquired Brain Injuries, Amputees, Visual & Hearing Impairment and Muscular Dystrophy.

Riding & relationships with horses can improve coordination, balance, muscular development, fitness, self esteem, confidence, communication, leadership & a sense of personal control.

Participants in our programs are both individuals and from Special Developmental Schools in consultation with RDA Coaches or via RDA Assessment and a waiting list.

Programs are tailored by accredited coaches, in consultation with therapists, to help the riders meet needs and achieve specific goals.

These programs include early intervention, horsemanship, mounted activities, vaulting, music, strength and coordination exercises.

Goal setting and continual evaluation enhance the program.
